Nestled beside a picturesque river, the views from our Japanese-Style Twin Room were amazing. The good dinners by the riverside offered a culinary experience like no other, showcasing the best we tasted in Japan. The warm and attentive staff, going above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our honeymoon.

Gorgeous ryokan nestled among nature's beauty.

The experience was frustrating with outdated room decor and uncomfortable futons. I had to endure the thin bedding which made sleeping a challenge. Additionally, limited dining options forced me to stick to the hotel despite its shortcomings.

The onsen was basic, but the area’s views were gorgeous.

Don't miss the complimentary shuttle service when arriving or departing. it greatly simplifies your travel to bus and train stations.

perfectly situated for exploring kyoto's sights and natural beauty

my stay here was fantastic thanks to its prime location which allowed me to easily explore the stunning jingo-ji temple just a short walk away, and i loved being close enough to hike the beautiful trails of mt. Takao for breathtaking views of the surrounding area, making my city strolls even more rewarding. the hotel offered a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home during my visit in 2024, but i wish there were more dining options available nearby for added convenience.

The stay was absolutely amazing with incredibly delicious meals and relaxing hot baths that melted all my stress away! I loved how I could unwind by the tranquil creek or explore the beautiful trails nearby. Just a heads up, more towels would have made the onsen experience even better! 😊

The atmosphere felt like stepping into another era. The ryokan's location by the creek surrounded by trees was incredibly peaceful. Meals served brought traditional Japanese cuisine to life, particularly dinner by the riverside, where I enjoyed freshly caught fish. Everyone on staff went out of their way to accommodate dietary needs without issue. I appreciated the complimentary shuttle to and from the bus stop, making my travel seamless. The room was spacious, with traditional futon bedding and a lovely view. It wasn't without its quirks. while charm radiated, the decor definitely showed its age, with some areas feeling a bit dated. There was a residual smokiness in the communal areas, which I found slightly off-putting. The public bath was nice but basic, lacking a more luxurious feel expected in a ryokan. All in all, it offered a unique experience despite a few drawbacks.

The hotel's location offered stunning views along a small river, and the peaceful ambiance provided a perfect break from the city's hustle. I loved how close it was to beautiful hiking trails just down the road. The authentic dining experience, where meals were prepared at the table, added a unique touch to my stay.
